My Country My Responsibility
We are so fortunate and privileged that we are born on this diverse, cultural, traditional and pious land where the country is referred to mother.
My country- such a vague topic and can’t be compressed into a speech of few minutes. Here we have a part of it.
जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी।
One’s mother and motherland are superior to the highest heavens.
Our mother takes care for us and doesn’t demand anything in return. So it becomes our moral duty to take care of her.
Since independence, we have got many rights and with rights came duties. When we hear rights, it feels fascinating. But as it comes to duties, the blame game begins.
My dear friends, let me edify you all duty is not confined to do a specific task like holding the arms in hands and standing at the border for nation’s security. A real patriot could serve the nation in routine life for example taking care of environment, climate, maintaining cleanliness, saving water, respecting national symbols, respecting elders among many others. And these days we have ample opportunities to serve. It’s just the determination and commitment towards our nation.
Promoting AATMANIRBHAR BHARAT is one such duty that will certainly give us the right to be called a developed nation.
I have heard that in many developed nations like Japan, people keep the nation at priority and then the family. This is supposed to be the reason that they are developed. But I proudly say we’re one step ahead. We count our nation as a family member. We don’t differentiate between the two. And that’s what differentiates from the world.
We say the freedom fighters were real patriots. So true! Totally agreed!
But one needs to realize that they acted as per the situation. Then the situation demanded an armed revolution to fight for freedom from the British. Now we need revolution to make everyone understand that…
Demand and contribution
Complaints and responsibilities
Rights and duties go hand in hand.
We raise demands but never count contributions.
We make complains but never count responsibilities.
We claim our rights but never count our duties.
The day when the citizens, especially ‘we’ the youth, realize this, the day won’t be far when we’ll be one of the developed nations.
And yes we need to remember all those Indians who put their efforts for freedom. With this I would like to quote Captain Manoj Pandey, a very young soldier who was martyred at Kargil war,
“If death strikes before I prove my blood, I promise, I will kill death.” That should be the spirit of every youngster!!
JAI HIND JAI BHARAT
